Did we lose the scanning feature in 2022 Desktop Enterprise all together? How do we upload documents now?
27 Comments 27 Community Champion May 19, 2022 11:43 AMYes, Intuit eliminated the built in scan document feature with QuickBooks 2022 and Enterprise 22.0.
I think the only way to do it now is manually, outside of QuickBooks, and then attach the file within QuickBooks.
QuickBooks Team May 19, 2022 12:47 PMI recognize the importance of being able to use the scanning feature in QuickBooks Desktop, @Lisa W J.
The Scan Manager tool was discontinued in QBDT 2022 and replaced with Attach Documents.
You can now utilize the QuickBooks Desktop mobile app to upload documents to the system using your mobile device if you have the latest version. After that, you can include them in invoices, purchase orders, and other transactions.
QBDT presently supports PDFs as well as images in JPEG, JPG, GIF, and PNG formats. You'll need to download the QuickBooks Desktop program to use this feature.
Here are the links to download them based on your device:
After that, you can now start capturing and uploading the documents. If you're using an Android version, follow these:

It is not feasible for us to take pics of documents that include 100+ pages to attach to transactions within QuickBooks. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE bring back the scan document (from a desktop scanner) within the Attach function on Journals, Bills, Checks, within QuickBooks. We switched from Premier 2019 to Enterprise 2022. I am very UNHAPPY that QuickBooks has taken this function away. I suggest going to Help>Send FeedBack Online>Product Suggestion and asking QuickBooks programming to add this function back. Maybe if more of us would suggest they bring this back, they will add it back.
June 13, 2022 08:40 AMI am also very unhappy i can no longer scan to an invoice. Big problem for me. Makes no since to update something and take away features.
October 03, 2022 02:31 PMThis is not a good way to upload a document that is 100+ pages. Bring back the scan feature within QuickBooks - Attach. Taking this feature away has added more time to our workload.
October 04, 2022 05:52 AMI am very disappointed with the scan options. First scanning to my PC then uploading into Quickbooks is time consuming. I have to scan the doc then name it so that it doesn't get lost in a sea of documents on my desktop. Then I have to upload the document into Quickbooks. The second option of scanning the doc into Quickbooks using my personal phone is not an acceptable option for a healthcare facility. We scan documents into Quickbooks that has patient information attached to it. Using our phones could be a HIPAA violation waiting to happen. You scan the document with your phone with the patient info on it, you get busy and you forget to delete the information you scanned with the patient info on it and then you are now in possession of that patient's information that could be compromised if someone gets into your phone. It's just not feasible for us to use the cell phone scanning option. We need the scan option that was removed. It was a quick click of a button and the info was scanned and saved. Lots of additional steps involved. And when you are working in a fast paced work environment you do not have time for all of the extra steps involved.

I can certainly understand how an ability to scan documents from a computer with the click of a button could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.
