There are many different factors to consider when determining the best wording for your child’s Bar or Bat Mitzvah invitation. What will your opening line be? Will you include your son or daughter’s Hebrew name on the invite? Are you hosting a Kiddush luncheon and want to inform your guests? Is there are party held at a different address than the synagogue where the service is being held? Is there a hybrid or virtual component to your ceremony? The following 10 different Bar/Bat Mitzvah invitation wording examples will help you navigate through all of these elements. I suggest that you take a look at all of them – even the samples from the other gender – because each and every invitation sample has a slight variation.
Even as synagogues start to open up to a greater capacity, I expect that many Bar and Bat Mitzvah ceremonies will have some form of a hybrid service where there will be a Zoom or livestream option. To reflect this new virtual component, we have included sample wording for this online option and indicated such with blue font.
